I did a powerdown of the box last night and i am not having the problem anymore. My system checks security and several other things every hour and if a problem exists. It's supposed to send me an email. And it had been doing it at i min after the hour for about 1.5 days. But i had been away from the computer a lot and hadn't noticed it. I do remember trying to load/run a couple of programs that just never loaded about 1.5 days before the problem was discovered. lrssi and bitchx where the apps. they just never even acted like they tried to load. Maybe it had something to do with it. What is "Top"? My machine is a 900mhz amd 512ram. Mandrake 10 and i run blackbox. And all that is running other than services is SBBS and it's servers. I will wait and see if it occurs again. I'll run a man top here in a minute and see if i get any info on top. I don't have any servers or even email setup on this box. Drivers, security cron and required services are all.
