Ooooo... No.. That's never a good thing in religion... B) PR> I was intending for some mix of irony and sarcasm to blead through... It's hemorrhaging all over the place... B) PR>In truth, I was hoping they would start to think for themselves. And there are levels of censorship too. You can let things go to a point before you step in to put out fires. People need a bit of free rein and to hear other opinions before they can really come up with a solid sustainable philosophy of their own. PR>I knew I could sell the Power that Be on the idea of an online environment >that could put them in absolute controll of the content, but I also >knew that not a single one of them is techy enough to ever make it >past new account setup -- if that far. So, I was expecting very little >in the way of input from "them." :-) Snapping at the heels of free speech there.. another thing the organised church usually isn't big on.. B) I have had a couple of fellow computer repair tech friends over the years that worked on the systems for local churches or convents and my impression, through some of their 'discoveries', is that a lot of the church 'elite' could use a few Hail Mary's themselves before they start casting stones... This isn't intended to be a blanket condemnation, just more a comment that these people are all human, regardless of what they seem to think. And whenever humans are involved there are human weaknesses that show up from time to time. This can be more problematic in an institution which STRONGLY discourages disagreeing with or criticizing anyone higher up the food chain.. (Short of God, of course..)
