Did you wind up using ports, packages, source or ???  though admittedly it's a 
user oriented distro, I like it a lot so far... going to see if I can install 
it to an external USB drive, and how it will/won't work.. hopefully without 
blowing up windows.. on my main box...

yeah, the package installer is pretty neat I don't have a sound card in the 
box it's in currently, will maybe put it on my main box, would love to get 
vmware working with it.. may just ditch xp for my main OS if I can.

welcome... managed to get a few things in, if you figure out a half-way easy 
way to get Java 5 installed, let me know.. the bsd packages seem to be for 
4.x, and you need a developer account on the java site to get the source.. not 
sure what it would take for a redist for java, but may get ambitious and setup 
packages for java, mono and python with simple installation files.
