What the cap?  I just powered up the machine and *!POW!* The end of the 
cap split open with a report like a .22 pistol, and a fountain of fibrous 
material shot up and hit the ceiling overhead.  The caps have a cross- 
shaped weak spot grooved into their ends so side of the case doesn't go.

Chucked the board.  Could probably have dicked about replacing the cap, 
but it wasn't a new board to begin with.....
