I get a kick out of those claims. The music industry is never going to cave in and simply admit the drop in revenue is because the product by and large sucks. There is good stuff out there, but you really have to dig for it. That is why I'm somewhat excited about the possibilities with digital music. It could be a painfull transition for the music companies because they would be accountable when it comes to releasing the cookie cutter crap they push now. I don't generally jump on a lot of tech trends that come down the pike(hence I'm still using BBS' LOL). I like the idea of paying for music that I want to hear and being able to experience some of it(through samples and streaming radio). I want the money to go to the right people. I guess we are still a few years away as far as refinement is concerned, but I'm all for the artist having more leverage. The old bloated model is tired, like the product it produces. > > That said, I don't have any peer to peer software at all > so I'm not just trying to justify my bad habits, (although > I suppose I may have gotten a few music pieces in the past).. Being a music fan, I finally got around to seeing what I could do with this 'new' technology ;-) /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// /////// Chris Perrault ////////// ////// THE DIAMOND MINE BBS ////////// ///// Telnet bbs.dmine.net ////////// /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// --- þ Synchronet þ Diamond Mine Online BBS - bbs.dmine.net .
