Technically you can have a backup of any data you pay for, but then they block your ability to create a backup. Plus most courts have ruled that if you buy, say, a CD and want to use it yourself as a Cassette in the car or whatever, that it's okay to copy it for that purpose, but most of the music makers would disagree with that too to try to force an extra sale.. It's sad.. Like with sports players and such, money is going to ruin it for everyone. What's funny is they've known for decades that in areas where music is 'stolen' the most, sales of music is the highest as well. People tend to buy music once they've heard it, more-so when they've had a few cuts of their own as opposed to just hearing it infrequently on the radio.. And music industry claims of "Billions $$" in lost revenue are crap. In many cases a person will DL a song for free that they would never buy, so all they accomplish there is stopping wider exposure of their product rather than guaranteeing a sale. That said, I don't have any peer to peer software at all so I'm not just trying to justify my bad habits, (although I suppose I may have gotten a few music pieces in the past)..
