Check to see if you have xmms installed .. rpm -qa | grep xmms Uninstall xms , but not the skins (if you have included the skins in your installation) rpm -e --nodeps xmms-x.x.x.x (the version number) Go to the xmms website and download the latest build appropriate for your distiribution.
