Hi everyone.
I'm looking into some of the bigger online music download services
(Itunes,Napster,Rhapsody,etc). I'd like to get myself an MP3 collection going,
and outside of my own CD's I'd like to download some stuff so I don't have to
get an entire CD. This is especially for my girlfriend, who usually likes the
one or two hit songs from somebody and won't listen to the rest of the album.

Anyway, I'm finding out that this may be more complicated than I thought. After
checking all the major sites mentioned above as well as a few other that I'm
interested in for streaming audio, I'm finding that Linux is again not very
welcome. Almost everything seems to require a Wintel/Explorer combo or a Mac. I
don't have either at the moment. Am I missing any sites out there(legal ones
preferably) where I can get MP3's using Linux?

My hope is to either build a seperation partition on the harddrive for just
music, or even a seperate external drive, so that when I do get another Windows
machine I the shtuff can be played on both systems without format and
encryption issues. It looks like everyone's using MP3's and unfortunately
adding there on encryption or what have you so it only works on certain
systems.

Am I missing anything obvious? I know I can use xmms and other software to play
MP3's but is there any secret to using these sites with Linux without jumping
through major hoops, or will I have to bite the bullet and wait until I get my
next windows box? 

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not totally new to the multimedia world,
but it's only been recently that I've gotten the bug devote some harddrive
space to an online music collection. I'm interested in both downloads and
streaming music (like Live365).
