Heh.  Yep.  I'm fully aware of that, and I'll come clean and admit that I only
posted that link to try to get a rise out of the sorts of people who would
feel it necessary to leap to Gentoo's defense.

I actually did use Gentoo for a while, and while there was a certain pointless
satisfaction in the knowledge that every package on my system was built from
source at the time of installation, I eventually got sick of having to rebuild
everything from source to keep it up-to-date, so I went back to Debian.  I did
kinda like rc-update and etc-update, though.
