³ i'm using gaim right now.. one on my windows nt based os and on my main box

³ what version are you using bud? go to sourceforge and get the latest source
³ and build a copy. also what distro are you using?

I am using debian.  It was stable, until they release sarge last week.
 
I did apt-get a newer version of gaim tonight, and it does work now.
