Subj : gnu utils for win32 To : dove.unix From : Tracker1 Date : Wed Jun 08 2005 11:47 am http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/ Came across this when I was looking for a bzip2 program (besides winrar) for handling bz2 compression.. wanting to use it to pipe pg_dump to for backups. Looks like it has all the main command line utils, there's a downloader/extracter program that you can use with two batch files, one downloads, the other extracts/installs... Add the bin path for the install folder to the PATH environment variable, and gnu/nix goodness at the command prompt... It seems to be pretty well kept up, and doesn't rely on cygwin libraries, there are some recommendations for environment variables to add if you don't have them, which is easy enough... -- Michael J.
