Subj : Slackware Question To : Angus Mcleod From : Sniper Date : Fri Jun 03 2005 03:48 am Got a Slackware question for you... I recently purchased a new pcmcia card for my laptop, had some problems finding a driver for the thing... Anyway, I got the thing working, sort of, but I don't know where the main configuration files are for the NIC's. This thing comes up as an ath0 device, and I want to set it to look for DHCP... What I currently have to do is run ifconfig ath0 . and run routed to make it work... I could put this all in rc.local, and let it be done, but I know there's a file somewhere... I just can't seem to find it. I could do this in a matter of seconds with Debian. Edit /etc/network/interfaces: # The loopback interface auto lo eth0 iface lo inet loopback iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.1.20 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 network 192.168.1.0 gateway 192.168.1.254 I just can't seem to find a file with this kind of informtion in it. Mind giving me a hint? :) Sniper Killed In Action BBS, telnet://kiabbs.org Home of the Unofficial SynchroNet Support Network. download the info pack at any of the below sites: http://www.chcomputer.net/USSNET.ZIP or http://www.ussnet.org ....
