Subj : Which Distro

Hello, I'm new to Linux only a few months now. been using a Live-CD edition
(Knoppix/D:B) and i'm pretty happy with it, minus no java/shockwave, and i'm
ready for a complete distro. Knoppix had a nice program called QTParted so i
already resized my windows hard-drive and might resize it again if i decide to
get OS Tiger, which is pretty good. I checked out a book called Fedora Core
Linux for Dummies (not saying i'm a dummy) and it came with Fedora Core 1, and
i noticed version 3 was out, so before i download FC3 is there another distro
that is better then that of Red Hats?
