I don't want to dial out anymore. ;-) MP> I will look at the docs, and figure out the getty. ;-) Thanks! the "Getty's" will be your first step... the pppd will be in there though... And there's more after that... :) I ran a Linux based ISP for a number of years... :) Here's another hint... Not sure which distro your playing with, but, in Debian, in /etc/inittab you'll find: # Dialup lines: #d1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS0 vt100 #d2:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS1 vt100 uncomment the one for your modem's comport, or create the line for your modem... depending on what your ttyS?? is. looking at my dmesg I find this line: Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with HUB-6 MANY_PORTS MULTIPORT SHARE_IRQ SERIAL_PCI enabled ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A Hope that helps a bit...
