"ppp - Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) daemon." They just didn't put on the "d" at the end... :) MP> I do have the ppp package installed, and there is a portion in webmin MP> that claims to be for setting up dial-in and out accounts, but no MP> actual mention of a dial up server. The way it works, is not a "Server" that you have running... that's Windows... Linux will configure the modem where you can have it answer on the first ring or however many, and when it "hears" the modem connect, it will run its stuff that you tell it to so you can connect, either to the box itself, or start up the PPP stuff so you can connect to the internet or network. Some other programs you might wanna apt-get: pppconfig - A text menu based utility for configuring ppp. mgetty - Smart Modem getty replacement dhcp-client - DHCP Client dhcp3-client - DHCP Client dnsmasq - A caching DNS forwarder. See, I don't wanna take all the fun outta what your trying to do, so, I'll let you figure out the rest... I just tossed a couple of hints... :) Sniper Killed In Action BBS, telnet://kiabbs.org Home of the Unofficial SynchroNet Support Network. download the info pack at any of the below sites: http://www.chcomputer.net/USSNET.ZIP or http://www.ussnet.org ....
