I use my Linux boxes as home servers. Once they're solid and upgrading, I don't care about having the latest and greatest distro. Debian was a little rough around the edges for the install, but I don't intend to re-install unless there's a really compelling reason to or the hard drive takes a dump. If you're looking for a desktop system or a system you install more often, Fedora looks pretty good, as do some of the more desktop-oriented distros.
