I want to see if it can really authenticate to a NetWare server, either through NDS or LDAP. I dual-boot SuSE 9.1 on my notebook, and it runs great. This reminds me... (off on a tangent I go!) I ran a network benchmark at the office just for giggles a few days ago. The results were interesting: SMB writes to three different PCs, 100mbps Ethernet PC 1: Windows 2000 Pro - Athlon 1GHz - 873KB/sec PC 2: Red Hat 8.0 (SAMBA) - Athlon 750MHz - 8.9MB.sec PC 3: NetWare 6 (CIFS) - AthlonXP 2800+ - 7.4MB/sec That's no typo. The Win2k box really got less than a meg/second. All of these boxes have IDE 7200RPM drives. PC #2 was probably the busiest (with other tasks) during these tests. Go figure. o (O) BeLLy --- þ Synchronet þ **** BraziBBS: bbs.brazi.net **** .
