I've tried all the versions of Winamp, and keep going back to the 2.9x series.
It helps that the interface hasn't changed in 10 years, and I can operate it
without having to think :)

Whew... Re-encoding is evil. eeek. Before I bought my indash mp3 player (3?
years ago) I made damn sure that it would play VBR files, especially since that
is my bitrate of choice when encoding. So far, it has refused to play only 2
files, and I think that was caused by some funky tags.
