Fair enough -- only I want binaries from the NEW box to run on the OLD one. > I like to build from ports, but I understand if bandwidth is a challenge, > that might be difficult. It isn't that so much. I don't have full access to the machine (4.4) so I can't run the compiler and/or build from ports. But there are a few utilities that would be damned handy to have (like 'wget' and mayne the ImageMagick toolset, etc). I have FreeBSD 4.9 and 5.2 here (unopened) so I could concievably set up a system here and copy the files onto the 4.4 server but I'm not sure they'd run. > FreeBSD does maintain a current binary ports tree online (as well as > many places to get the entire precompiled ports tree on CD for very > cheap). But to find one for 4.4..... --- þ Synchronet þ Linus is a regular at The ANJO BBS. No, Linus Brathwaite! .
