If there's a way to bypass this verification check, I don't know it I had a toshiba (don't know if they use the same check) that suddenly, after 2 years of working fine, decided it was no longer a toshiba. :-/ I have no idea why. I was, however, able to track through the system restore process, and start it as a point AFTER the verification process.
