If there's a way to bypass this verification check, I don't know it I can't think of one, myself. I had to approach the problem from the opposite direction a while back, where the machine itself refused to stop declaring itself a Dell machine until I killed the BIOS and gave it a new one. (It made something stupid along the way of an OS installation difficult. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I seem to recall the installation being stymied entirely because of it.) Dell's like that. Their systems are only "correctable" within rigid confines created to mask the fact that they're extraordinarily bad at putting components together that belong together, where one component doesn't exceed the capabilities of another for cost-effectiveness. Hate to say it, but the disk is probably absolutely worthless. [daemon] In the shuffling madness... --- þ Synchronet þ necropolisbbs.darktech.org - Tonawanda, NY .
