Subj : Old Laptop Memory To : ALL From : ROB MCCART Date : Sat Jul 23 2005 06:19 pm I got this freebie old Laptop the other day.. I'd been looking for a cheap medium end unit but this sort of fell in my hands. Just an old Toshiba T1960CT.. Not a bad little unit. Very clean and not so much as a scratch on the screen and even came with a fairly new case but it could Really use more memory. It has 8 meg now (4 built in and 4 added) but that's a little 'light' for even Win 95 I think. It has Win 3.11 on it now. I had a heck of a time finding where the memory plugged into it but I wasn't expecting what I found. Big flat piece of plastic almost the size if a playing card with a bunch of holes in one end. Looks something like a Compact Flash memory card that's all grown up... Online they called it 88pin JEIDA DRAM (non-parity, 3.3v) (Not sure if JEIDA is a make or a type) Anyone have any old blown computers around that takes this same sort of RAM that has a 16 or 32 meg module they may want to let go cheap ? --- þ SLMR Rob þ I often quote myself.
