Subj : Admin tools ?? To : All From : Finnigann Date : Sat Jul 16 2005 08:14 am OK. I've got a Windows problem that doesn't reall seem to be a problem. Part one: I get a warning every time I boot the computer. Windows Error General Protection Fault Error, please delete file. It's all wrapped up in a nice dialog box with a warning triangle. Nothing else seems to be wrong (well I'll get to that in a bit.) It seems to want me to delete a file (semiphore file?) But I have not a clue which one to hack up... I fired up the task manager to see what process is running but it wasn't any help. Would Admin tools be of use here? Speaking of admin tools. What might they be good for? I mean what should I be using them for. Or do I need to? Part two: Now the aforementioned quirk. My machine looses the internet connection EVERYTIME. I reboot several times a day to recover it. It doesn't seem to be in the router or cable modem as I have a laptop and it is happy to stay connected for days. (On very rare occasions, the modem will need to be rebooted [hard rest about once a month]) But my windows box can't go a few hours... EVEN localhost fails at these times. Until I reboot that is. OS Windows XP Laptop is Windows ME Thanks in advance for your efforts .... An optimist is a guy without much experience... --- MultiMail/Win32 v0.46 þ Synchronet þ Bits-N-Bytes BBS Onehellofa BBS bnb.dtdns.net .
