Once it became obvious that the problem wasn't blockage by my ISP, it had to take a harder look at Postfix. I guess you could say it was time to RTFM. The postfix page had a lot of info, and I was able to find that part. The master.cf had several examples of inet_interfaces. I chose the one that said inet_interfaces=all, instead of the one that said inet_interfaces=localhost. it works now.
