(See, that's why I like  "netstat -ap | grep smtp | grep ^tcp" better.)

The last two lines don't matter.  The one beginning with "tcp" tells you 
that something called "master" is listening on the smtp port on localhost.  
What is "master"?  Try

	ps -ef | grep 18450

to see what the full command line is for PID 18450.
