netstat -na | grep ':25 ' | grep LISTEN

Hopefully you will see one of:
0.0.0.0:25
*:25
192.168.2.111:25

If not, it's not listening to external ports.
This is probobly the default configuration in any modern distro.  You'll have
to explicitly configure it to listen on other addresses.
