Subj : Getting email To : All From : Gryphon Date : Fri Jul 01 2005 12:20 pm I'm having the devil's time trying to get my linux system to accept smtp mail. I've got my router set up forward smtp traffic to my linux/bbs box. I have it set up to forward telnet(23) and http(80) as well, and they work. So I'm wondering why it won't work for smtp(25). from my linux box, I can telnet to port 25 and talk to postifx, and I can send mail from my box to local users on my box, so I know that postfix is working on the proper port. I have the domain cyberia.darktech.org, but I don't know if it is sending mx records or not. I have a secondary domain, cyberiabbs.zapto.org, and is positivly setup to send mx records, and I've tried sending mail to my dperry@cyberiabbs.zapto.org address, but it just keeps coming back saying that it couldn't make a smtp connection. So, what are my options? Is it a problem with my provider? Are they blocking the port? They arn't blocking any other port that I can tell.
