I've never heard of any software company going after a single user. Those rare occasions when you do hear about it it always involves thousands of pirated copies. In theory they could go to court over a single copy and then nail the person for court costs but, in the long run, they don't care that much. Microsoft has admitted that Windows is the most stolen software in history and, were it not for that pirating, they would not be where they are today.
