Subj : Bye-bye Win2k. To : All From : Daemon Date : Sat May 14 2005 09:52 pm Well, I'm flat out of patience with MS operating systems. Win2K just happily rearranged the IP addresses of every one of my network components, making them unusable with the BBS setup and the rest of the home network. Again. Rather than go to the bother of moving everything off the drive, reinstalling Win2k, moving everything back again, and then waiting for this to inevitably happen again, I'm going to pull-in some Linux distros and use one of the backup computers to learn the ropes with it. In the meantime, incoming connections to the BBS probably won't be happening. I've been fighting with this IP configuration for 2 days now, and it just keeps changing itself to whatever it feels like, no matter what I do, and it's a WAY too familiar feeling. *grin* So be warned... I'm probably going to have a host of questions along the way. [daemon] In the shuffling madness... --- þ Synchronet þ necropolisbbs.darktech.org - Tonawanda, NY .
