No it does not.  Almost all modern drives are automatically supported.

The list is an old one, left in there for historical reasons.  They are no 
longer updating the list, because virtually all drives nowadays are 
supported.

Switch to Linux, and it will probably work, unless the new burner is 
deliberately not MMC-compliant.
