So you wouldn't have to utilize their repositories? Technically, yes. It is based on Debian, so all you have to do is figure out apt-get. However, they do have some programs that are only available for Linspire (if I understand correctly), but those could probably be replaced by other linux software. One thing I'd worry about is what branch of Debian they are based off of. If you don't point to the right branch of the tree, you might break some of the dependencies, I would think.
