An author (Pierce Anthony) had about 50 pages in the back of one of his novels once explaining how he'd remapped his keyboards and could type MUCH faster, since much of our current keyboard design was developed to minimize the chances of typewriter keys getting jammed.. IOW, they are designed to slow down your access to many keys. I also saw an interview with a woman who writes romance garba.. err.. novels who had some version of Apple Mac which she had remapped and (I would like to see this) she claimed she could consistantly type at 225 wpm.. Possibly there were macros involved as well to replace common words with a 2-key combo or some such, but still, it would be impressive if true. I knew a secretary once who could type 115 wpm, error free, on an electric typewriter. That seemed fast enough to me considering the best I can manage is about 25 wpm.. with 4 fingers...
