Lost me there..  There are too many incidence every year of people
getting E-Coli poisoning from undercooked store-bought ground beef.

Only if your own kitchen is a toxic waste site.
Have you ever seen the processing plants where ground beef
is made in huge quantities ?  You might not be so confident.

Right... I worked for a couple of years at a "Major" food chain
who bragged about the quality of their meat, and after a few months
I almost swore off meat completely when I saw how it was handled
day to day... Funny thing, we never had any problem with inspections.
I'd sure want to be certain ground beef from ANY store, other than
extremely expensive stuff from a butcher, was Very well cooked.
