That was Microsoft's first foray into trying to pwn the hardware,
wasn't it?

Now we have WinModems, Microsoft's trying to get into the BIOS, and
DRM-laden hardware on the horizon.

I read an interesting propoganda piece from Microsoft's web site
geared towards non-profits that accept donations. It said it was
illegal to accept an Intel PC for donation WITHOUT THE OS. I wonder
who fell for that.
