Ya know, both a buddy of mine and I had Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 (6Y080L0) 
go bad within the past week.  I thought it was just coincidence, but I 
joked about how they must've been time-bombed!  Now I'm starting to 
wonder!  :)

Fortunately, I had mine in a RAID configuration with a Western Digital 
WD800BB, so I didn't lose anything like he did (also, a ton of "personal" 
collected stuff).  It's still in the "broken" status until I get around to 
slapping another drive in there, though.
