Subj : packet radio To : ANGUS MCLEOD From : Daryl Stout Date : Tue Jul 05 2005 03:01 am Hi, Angus... AM>IIRC, I had a QRZ disk years ago, and it came with fairly basic software >to access the database on the disk. Is that the same thing? It didn't >look too hard back then to access that data. A program to do si would be >fairly easy to code, I'd think. But as I said, that was years ago... You can still run QRZ from a DOS prompt...just have the CD in the drive, and type qrz at the prompt. I think it's up to version 25 now. AM>Both of these sound, once more, like they wouldn't be that hard to >reimplement. Unfortunately, my programming ends at my VCR. AM>ARPD is over 10 years old, but you might try contacting the author: I've talked with him about it, and I think his website (at least for his "web BBS" kept getting hacked into, that he shut that down. I can't recall what he said with the doors themselves, but he noted in the docs that "fossils are ignored". I even found a freeware DOSINT14 deal I got from Tactical Software awhile back when I was trying COM/IP (which did not work with my setup)...but DOSINT14 didn't work either. I can get the stuff to display over Synchronet, but they "don't pause for input". FWIW, I don't think Dave is going to do much further development with his stuff...I hope I'm wrong. I spend most of my ham radio time now on VHF packet. Daryl, N5VLZ --- þ OLX 1.53 þ Over 150 msg areas, over 5000 files, and over 100 doors. þ Synchronet þ The Thunderbolt BBS wx1der.dyndns.org .
