There are plenty of packet BBS's out there. Well, maybe not plenty, but several. I don't know that SBBS would be suitable, even if you could get it hooked up to a TNC. There are operational problems. A simple example is logging on. Since you would broadcast your userid and password "in clear" any other station monitoring would get your userid/password easily. Packet BBS's usually use a challenge/response method of some sort, so that the sequence changes randomly. > for if ther is i will get my ham licence to set up a packet bbs In my experience, packet BBS's are bo-ring. (Packet radio itself is bo-ring.) There are no people involved. Packet radio is all about machines passing unwanted, useless and out-of-date bulletins back and forth between each other on automatci, causing massive QRN in the process.
