What freqs are > technician classes allowed to broadcast on? It depends on your definition of "Technician." The original Technician class, which I hold, required a written test and 5wpm Morse. The requirements were later changed, removing the requirement for Morse, and the Techs who had taken the Morse test were then known as "Tech Plus." Currently, there are only 3 U.S. Amateur License classes: Technician: 35 question written exam General: 35 question written exam + 5wpm Morse Advanced: 50 question written exam + 5wpm Morse With the new system, "Tech Plus" has ceased to exist -- Technician class licensees who have fulfilled the old Morse requirement may still use the old Tech HF allocations, but must be able to produce proof of having passed the Morse element if necessary. They are also eligible for an upgrade to General simply by completing a form. I did this once, but for some reason it was never processed, and I have never tried again. As far as operating orivieges for Techs, here is a URL to ARRL's Frequency Allocations page: http://www.arrl.org/FandES/field/regulations/bands.html o (O) BeLLy --- þ Synchronet þ **** BraziBBS: bbs.brazi.net **** .
