I seen some homebrewed ATU's that were masterpieces of the metalsmith's art. Home made, geared capacitors, multi-turned roller-inductors, high-voltage switches made from scratch... You need to have good metal-fab. equipment though, and access to what I call high-quality scrap such as copper and aluminum sheet, rod, bar, tube, and PTFE bits as well. The electronics itself is getting so I can't even consider construction any more, particularly with all the SMT components and so forth. --- þ Synchronet þ CQ DX!
