I am in EN82 in Michigan. I was running 100 Watts on my Icom 746Pro running a Par Omni loop at 12 feet. That is about the farthest I have worked.. Over the summer I worked mobile (vertical) into Denver, CO from EN82. I was running 100 watts on 50.125 on my Yaesu FT-897 into a Cushcraft 1/2 wave vertical. The Denver grid is exactly south of the South Dakota grid, so thats the farthest west I have ever worked. I have worked alot of Florida and Texas mobile from EN82. Not to shabby for being verticaly polarized on SSB and mobile! Thats why I love 6, when the band is open, you can work anyone with a paperclip.. :) Your in CA right? Maybe you will be my long awaited CA 6 Meter contact without the use of beams (I don't believe in them for 6 Meters) Jason - Whiskey Eight Zulu Zulu Uniform --- þ Synchronet þ Scanner Enthusiasts BBS - scannerbbs.dyndns.org - *Dove-Net .
