If things ever slow down here, I want to try out some of the cool stuff. I have been doing most of my HAM radio as of late in the car or when I walk through the park at night getting exercise. I have a 20 Plus foot long 2 meter Station master antenna in the back yard for my local HAM club that we are planning on putting on top of a 100' tower, looks like the club may get a donation of 100' of Inch and a quarter hardline, we just have to drive to Egg Harbour, New Jersey, to pick it up, about a 50 mile trip. That is about the extent of my HAM stuff for the past month or so, oh I did get a Mohawk Heath Kit receiver and a monster transmitter (sorry the name slips my mind and that is upstairs in the garage) vintage boat anchor stuff. A friend of mine, now a silent key had the rigs, his wife was moving. She wanted me to have the gear. I don't plan of selling the stuff, but I told her if she or any of her family ever want it back, it will be here. I will play withthe equipment when I get a chance, I think both units need some work. It is more sentimental to me than anything else. Even if the rigs are just cleaned up and sit on the shelf looking Vintage. I'll get them working one day and I am glad they did not end up in the dumpster. I also found a home for my friends old TekTronics Oscilloscope, another boat anchor tube scope, very cool unit but it must have weighed over 100 lbs, it about broke my back trying to get it up out his basement and into the car. Didn't any of that stuff from that era weigh under 80 lbs. :) I managed to smash my ICOM dual band HT antenna in the car door today. :( Busted the tip of the antenna clean off. I am not sure what it is tuned to now. :) I pu tthe rig in my pocket after talking to a firend to his address to report his complaint of local cable leakage (He has no phone) As I got in the car the antenna sticking out my coat pocket got smashed in the door as it closed. I really liked that antenna. Well i guess that gives me an excuse to make a trip down to HRO (Ham Radio Outlet) in Deleware. A nice day trip. Good talking to you. 73 Mark .
