     Hi Mark, I talked to Frank (TommyKnocker) W6BBS yesterday and he seems to
be doing fine. I bought an ICOM 703 (NOT the PLUS) from Jun's last week and put
it on the air yesterday. I am running it on a 3000 Ma 9.6 volt NiMi pack and
putting out 5 watts into the Cushcraft R6000 which if roof mounted. I worked a
dozen people (all QRP) on 18.157.5 (HF-Pack) and on 14.342.5 (HF-Pack). Most of
these people were operating portable and the Icom 703 seems to be the radio of
choice. The band was really hopping yesterday, my best DX was a ZL1 station on
28.385 again on the 703. I bought it to take on trips to Catalina Island and
such. Oh, by the way, I use ECHO LINK here also. There is a QRP Conference
server that I log onto and talk with other QRP-ers. It's all good! Anyways
