Subj : Satellite Antenna To : All From : Spaceman Spiff Date : Mon Aug 23 2004 10:24 am I am planning to make a NOAA orbital satellite receiving station to capture some of those great satellite images. I will be using WX Sat for my computer software, run the audio from a ICOM R7000 receiver. I am looking into what the best antenna would be. A lot of guys make a simple turnstile antenna. A friend of mine uses this and he gets ok images. I think the gain is low. I am wondering if an array of 1/4 wave ground planes with groups offset at various angles would work, or if I need to build several yagi's \ + /. Any thoughts or insight will be appreciates. The freqs and info are: a exit .
