Yaesu VX-5 Triband HT, Yaesu FT-5100 Mobile Dual Bander. Panasonic RF-4900 short wave receiver, a Zenith Trans Oceannic . I am on Pennsylvania, I have cousins Ohio, a lot of family out in Western PA near Pittsburg and inlaws near Bedford, PA. When in Bedford I have talked on 440 link repeater system that allowed me to tyalk to guys in Ohio. I am north of Philadelphia and have not been able to do any VHF/UHF work to Ohio but I have made the contacts on HF. OAOB I am cureently using TELNET as my termial program so my editing capabilities are poor, I would like to fix my typos but it is really a pain, so bear with me. "ON PENNSYLVANIA" yes I landed on the planet. Sheesh, I should have used MTelnet, but I clicked on to the Synchronet link off my website and WInBlows opened this poor excuse of a terminal program. Getting off on a Tangent, I have and installed Linspire (formally LINDOWS Linux OS) But there currently is no Linux Driver for the ATI ALL-IN-WONDER-RADEON 32 MEG DDR video card so I was stuck in 600x300 resolution no matter what I set the resolution for, staring at 6 lines of type on the screen max each at 2 inch tall letters, I found LINUX would not work with this system. Unless I buy a new video card, well the new Radeon A-I-W is over $400, so I just reloaded my WIN98. It didn't cost me anything except my sanity. :) Back to HAM RADIO related talk. I am in the process of building a station for receiving NOAA orbital satellites around 137 MHz. A friend of mine had an old Pentium 166 Mhz system with sound card he was going to throw away becasue the hard drive crashed so I gave him $15 for it and am going to hook it up to the ICOM IC-R7000 and run WXSat to capture the video shots from the pass over, then I need to a program that will upload the images to my website. Should be pretty easy and a fun project. Any projects you are working on? 73 Mark http://mywebpages.comcast.net/n3jnc .
