MultiMail, the new multi-platform, multi-format offline reader! I disagree, 2 meters is a good band. If local HAMs in your area have turned it into CB, that is a shame and there probably needs to be some policing of that band in your area. I live in the East Coast, We get a lot of tropospheric ducting, many times we can talk from Pennsylvania up in through New England and Down through Virginia. I have heard of HAM's making contacts on 2 meters all the way down trhough the Florida Keys, never happened for me. I encourage anyone to get their ticket and use 2 meters, readios are inexpensive and antennas are very easy to build. It is great to start out on. HF is the next step and will come as a natural progression. Yes HF is great!!! You can talk the world. But 2 meters is great for keeping in contact with the local HAMs and coversations can be as good as the personalities on the air. 73 Mark .
