I've heard this suggestion before, and never given it much credence.  
Despite his own claims, SH *didn't* give his Dad a whippin' a decade 
earlier, unless you consider it in the most simplistic of terms.  But 
perhaps he (GWB) was/is stupid enough to allow that to be a justification 
for his actions, in his own mind.

So the Iraqi war has been a great success for GWB.  It won him 
re-election, and the vast majority of dumb-ass citizens have forgotten all 
about OBL/Afghanistan and continue to swallow the crap being spoon-fed to 
them by the administration spin-doctors.
