Used to be that way in Arizona as well, but times have changed, and the Californians have moved in... I don't smoke, but imho feel that restaraunt owners should be able to chose for themselves to allow smoking, or not.. and that the ability to own a firearm is a right (though, I don't personally own one). My dad was a cop for a very long time, when I was growing up, and there were always firearms in the house... neither myself, my brother, or sister ever got into trouble with them.. never "played" with them, or let our friends play with them... maybe that's what teaching children is all about, and too many parents look for a scape goat to their own lack of responsibility. On a side note, I'm pretty conservative fiscally, and fairly moderate in some areas.. I think overall the gov't is *WAY* too big, and that the bloat is the biggest part of the problem with it... I hold congress (yeah, rep. controlled) much more responsible for the state of the gov't than the president... (not that I'm a fan of GWB either, but would rather have him, than Gore, or Kerry). -- Michael J.
