Which is exactly one of the problems with America which made me want to leave. 
Too many ethnic communities that are >too< devoted to maintaining their
ethnicity.  Too many cultures and not enough commonality to tie people of
different races or nationalities into one community.  Too much of us against
them and not enough of we as in all of us.  But of course depending on where
you live in America conditions differ I presume.
