Subj : Driving Question To : All From : Sam Alexander Date : Fri Sep 30 2005 05:27 pm Hi everyone, This morning on the way to work me and my fiancee got into an argument about something I did and do quite often while on the highway. Just curious what others think of this. There's a busy on-ramp where there's always cars getting on the highway, so anyone who's used to that part of the highway always gets in the left lane to let folks get onto the highway more easily. This morning I moved over to the left lane going around 75 mph (speed limit is 70) and within a few seconds some fool came up on my butt riding my tail. Literally looking in the readview mirror you just saw his windshield he was so close. My usual response to such a thing is to tap my brakes so he see's my brake lights and backs off. I don't hit'em enough to even slow the car down, just for the lights to come on and make the jerk catch a clue. Well I did this this morning, and my fiancee got mad saying I was going ot cause a wreck. She said if folks start seeing taillights they might overreact and wreck or something bad will come out of this. My thinking is I don't want to slow-down quickly and have Johnny Asshole hit me causing us to wreck. IF someone's behind us and freaks out over someone's breaklights either A) they're not paying attention and shouldn't be driving anyway or B) they're driving recklessly and would wreck no matter what. Opinions on this please... Her and I don't get in fights, but this kinda started a back and forth debate until I dropped her off at work.
