Subj : Old BBS printouts found! To : All From : Sam Alexander Date : Wed Sep 28 2005 11:00 pm Hey Guys -- I was looking through my closet of old computer parts and junk, and I ran across a little brown file. Upon opening the file I found all my printouts I made and kept from the first year or so when I started using BBSes in 1989. I got a modem and printer both at the same time, so I printed EVERYTHING! I have literally my first dial into a BBS printed out along with the magazine I got my first BBS from. What's neat is I have TONS of printouts from other BBSes, and dang I forgot what just black and white ASCII text lookedl ike back then. These printouts were all done on my TRS-80 Coco 2, direct connect 300bps modem, and my Tandy DMP-106 dot matrix printer. Dang these brought back memories!!! Something else funny is my fiancee works with a lady who's hubby used to run one of the more popular local boards, and I found all sorts of printouts from his board from Dec 1989. I'm making copies for him :) Anyone else have such memorabilita from the days of past still laying around? Other then my first PC (an 8088 Samsung clone), I still have every computer, modem, etc I've used in a closet. I'd love to pull'em out and see if I can get them back up. Don't know why, but might be fun :) Sam --- "Data is not information, Information is not knowledge, Knowledge is not understanding, Understanding is not wisdom." -- Cliff Stoll --- þ Synchronet þ Life is Bunk BBS (Linux) in Waco, Tx -- lifeisbunk.homelinux.com .
